Vacation Recap #2

Why Vacations are Needed:

1- They help you detach. This vacation was one of our best allowing us to be able to completely detach from cell phones, computers and everything else in our lives EXCEPT each others. We were able to truly focus on one another which was AMAZING!

2- They help you look at life a little differently. I can't tell you how many times we laughed at something we probably would've missed if we were not relaxed. An extended look at a sunset. A little longer moment relishing a flower. Not being hurried to '
get to the next thing' really allows you to focus on what is all around you instead of what is right in front of you.

3- Adventures abound around each corner. So often we did things cause it sounded like fun (or dad had a crazy idea in his head!). Like this picture;

we were driving and I saw this formation in a rock and said, "Great picture so we pulled off, ran over there to get the picture!

We had fun, we got creative but we also really began modeling to our boys what living life with a wild abandonment can do. We focused on nature, God creation. We focused on each other & creating some deep family traditions and value teaching moments in our boys. We also let them have a sense of 'growing up' by experiencing some things that forced them to sit back in wonder at what God has created & how we are able to live each day enjoying God's grace, mercy & love in our lives.

We also ate a lot of ice cream too!!!
