I believe

So i am going to challenge our high school students in a couple weeks to write a creed based on what they believe, it will go with a series we are starting this thursday night. As thinking about this I found myself reciting the Apostles Creed in my mind which i memorized as a kid. I have changed some words based on my own theological convictions...but here it is. As you read pause at each break. Think about it. Think about the ramifications each part has on your life, soul & everyday existence.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord

Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.

The third day He arose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the body of Christ as the church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.
